In early 1990, Wilburn E. George, Jr., M.D., opened  Cardiology Group, P.C. and began providing high-quality cardiovascular services in Tullahoma.  A native of Tullahoma, Dr. George came from Memphis where he had been in practice since 1985.  Dr. George’s experience and expertise in both non-invasive and invasive cardiology built the clinical foundation on which the practice today is based upon.

             In 1994, Dinesh K. Gupta, M.D. joined Dr. George, and added a new dimension by bringing his experience and knowledge base in cardiac pacemakers and clinical research.  Together they built a significant practice and as the demand for services continued to grow, Jayant Bagai, M.D. joined the practice in 2002.  Dr. Bagai’s proficiency in nuclear cardiology and transesophageal echocardiography added to our strength in the non-invasive area of cardiology. 

             In May 2004, Daniel B. Jovanovich, M.D., added his expertise in interventional cardiology.  The addition of Dr. Jovanovich allows Cardiology Group, P.C. to offer PTCA and coronary stenting that was once only available in metropolitan areas.

             Today, Cardiology Group, P.C. has offices in Tullahoma and Winchester as well as satellite offices in Manchester and Shelbyville.  We pride ourselves on our mission to ensure that every patient receives the highest quality, comprehensive and cost-effective heath care available, with an emphasis on compassion, prevention and continuity.  It is the ultimate goal of Cardiology Group to help our patients be free from illness and attain an improved quality of life.
